Toshiba India doubles growth rate in 2010

Toshiba India is very happy at their growth rate in India, sources informed. The firm grew at above 100% in the last fiscal, sources added.

According to sources, Toshiba is optimistic about its growth in 2011 too, as they doubled their revenue.

The reason for Toshiba’s success came after quarter one in 2010 when it reviewed and upgraded its laptops on the basis of feedbacks from channel partners. In fact Toshiba sold some advanced models of laptops in India which they had not even talked of in the developed countries.

Research shows that Toshiba sold 65,000 notebook units and acquired 7.5 share of the entire market across India. In addition it did some aggressive marketing last year investing more than $10 million for building a brand name for Toshiba in the Indian sub-continent.

Toshiba now has plans to expand its exclusive stores across India and it aims to become one of the top three brands in the sub continent.
