Simmtronics Launches LED Monitors

Simmtronics Semiconductor Ltd. has launched three different LED-backlit monitors with screen sizes of 15.6, 18.5 and 21.5 inches. Manufactured at the company s Roorkee Plant, they are advertised as being completely manufactured in India.

With an wide screen aspect ratio of 16:9, the largest of these monitors has a display resolution of 1920 x 1080, while the other two have a 1360 x 768 pixels. These monitors support VGA and HDMI ports and also have speakers built inside. Being LED-backlit monitors, they boast of lower power consumption than that of ordinary LCD monitors, with the power consumption of the 15.6 and 18.5 inch monitor being less than 20 W, while that of the 21.5 inch less than 25 W. With 3 years warranty, these LED monitors are priced between Rs.4,000 and Rs.8,000. Exact pricing for each of the monitors was not available at the time of this news being published, but we will update the prices as they become available to us.

AKAI Launches Smallest LED in India

AKAI India has launched its 48.3-cm (19-inch) LED television, which is claimed to be the smallest LED available in India. The main USP of this TV is the sharp colours and brilliant contrast created by the LED screen, according to the company. The slim and compact TV ensures that it is ideal for smaller rooms and saves a lot of space in living rooms. The LED edge-lit screen has many advantages over its predecessors. For starters, its power consumption is very low. It is priced at Rs 11,000 only. It comes with full HD with dynamic contrast of 100000:1 and 1366 x 768 resolutions. The LED TV is also equipped with wide viewing angle with 16.7 million display colours which enhances the picture details (like colour saturation, sharpness and luminance). For better user interface, the TV is equipped with auto search feature.

"In the age where sky-rocketing real estate prices has shrunk the living space, we identified a consumer need for small and compact TV with high-definition viewing experience, superior picture quality, ultra slimness and more eco-friendly energy consumption," said Pranay Dhabhai, MD, AKAI India. The TV operates both on digital as well as analogue TV signals and can be easily connected to a PC with the VGA Port (D-sub 15 Pin). The video recording feature DTV (dvb-t) ensures that transmission can be recorded through USB by a single record key on remote.

LG launches Cinema 3D TVs based on FPR in India

After getting a firsthand experience at Seoul, LG has finally launched its Cinema 3D TVs based on its new patented FPR technology in India. The best part is the pricing which is pretty aggressive as compared to existing 3D TVs. Prices start from Rs. 94,990 for a 40-incher and goes all the way up to Rs.1,64,990 for its flagship model.

LG will also be launching its Smart TV line-up which will give users access to Internet apps like YouTube, Flickr, Twitter, etc as well as India centric content through various tie ups with Hungama, NDTV,   Indiatimes, CarWale and Zapak. All Cinema 3D TVs will come with patent technology like 3D Light Boost for a brighter and vivid picture, 2D to 3D conversion on the fly and DivX HD support. The initial roll out will include a total of seventeen models in various price segments and they will be bundling four sets of glasses with every TV. Additional glasses are considerably cheaper compared to shutter glasses at just Rs. 1,000 a pop. The Cinema 3D TVs should start rolling out in all major stores in the coming weeks.  

Sharp launches world’s largest LED TV, the 70-inch LC-70LE732U

HDTVs just got bigger thanks to Sharp’s announcement today of its new 70-inch LED LCD TV. Topping the previous max of 65 inches, the LC-70LE732U now takes the role of world’s largest LED-based TV. We really hope it’s used with the world’s smallest digital TV tuner that Sharp developed in June.
The TV, which actually measures 69.5 inches across, offers 62 percent more viewing area than a 55-inch TV, according to Sharp. It’s apparently equal to nine 19-inch TVs placed next to each other. The Sharp LC-70LE732U will give you 2,088 square inches of screen.
Besides screen size, the HDTV offers Sharp’s proprietary Quattron technology, which basically adds an extra pixel, a yellow sub pixel, to the normal red, green, and blue pixels. The TV features a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 6 million: 1 dynamic contrast ratio.
As with most TVs coming out these days, the LC-70LE732U offers streaming services, like Netflix, VUDU, CinemaNow, and Pandora, and web apps like Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr. It also includes built-in WiFi, so you won’t need an adapter to use its AQUOS Advantage Live onscreen customer service feature.
LG is said to be releasing a 72-inch LCD TV, but, until then, Sharp will remain the King of the Giant TVs.
The LC-70LE732U will run you $3,799, and there will be three more 70-inch models, including a 3D version, later this year.

Techcom Launches Cheapest Entry Level LED Monitor

Techcom has entered the LED monitor market and launched the cheapest entry level LED monitor - SSD LED 1506. This is a stylishly designed 15.6-inch monitor with LED backlighting with glossy Piano finish and it is just 12 mm in thickness.

With a resolution of 1366x768, this 16:9 aspect ratio monitor boasts of 5 ms response time for smooth transition of images and no trails in fast moving images. The contrast ratio is 800:1, while the brightness is 350 cd/sq. m, both being decent specifications for monitors. The control buttons are user friendly and easy to use with Power On/Off, OSD Menu, +/- adjustment. The On View controls comprise of Contrast, Brightness, Auto Adjust, Clock, Phase, H-position and V-position. As is the case with LED backlit monitors, this also consumes less power (typically 30 W) than normal LCD monitors.

The SSD LED 1506 is available at just Rs. 3,900 and comes with a 3 year warranty on the monitor as well as the power adapter. Now you have one less reason to hold you back from getting rid of that old CRT and getting an LED monitor.

LG Launches E60, E90 LED Backlit Monitor

LG has launched two LED backlit monitors, the E60 and the E90, that should be available in the market in the coming weeks. The E60 comes in three variants, the 20-incher costing Rs. 9,940, the 22-incher priced at Rs. 12,200 and the 23-incher that will be available for Rs. 13,000. The E90 will only come in one size, a 21-incher priced at Rs. 16,900.

The E60 is just 12.9mm thick which makes it incredibly slim. It also has a very attractive design which is not often seen in a desktop monitor. There's plenty of connectivity as well from D-Sub to DVI to HDMI. The resolution will vary depending on the size of the monitor. The monitor features a 'mega' contrast ratio and an Eco mode as well for lower power draw.

The E90 is more of a premium grade monitor that follows on the same lines as their LED TVs. The monitor measures just 7.3mm in depth and due to the ultra slim profile, all the ports had to be shifted to the base. This LED backlit model features 250 nits of brightness, 2ms response time, full HD resolution, and all three connectors of the E60.

Benq Launches XL2410T 3D LED Gaming Monitor
