Strange Rumblings Surround Thunderbolt Pricing and Availability

The HTC Thunderbolt will roll into Verizon Wireless this week as the first smartphone able to use the carrier's 4G network. The phone features a 1 GHz processor as well as Android Froyo. But although Verizon says it'll sell the phone in its own stores at $250, retailer Best Buy says it will bump its price up to $300 after the phone's spent just a few days on the market.
Verizon Wireless on Tuesday announced that its first 4G smartphone, the HTC Thunderbolt, will hit retail shelves Thursday.

It will offer the device, which runs Android2.2, at US$249.99 with a two-year contract if purchased through the carrier's site or in its stores.
However, questions have arisen regarding pricing and availability.
Best Buy (NYSE: BBY), which has claimed a "national retail exclusive" on the phone in the United States, will jack up the device's price by $50 starting Sunday.
Meanwhile, online retailer Wirefly is offering a $50 discount -- it's pricing the HTC Thunderbolt at $199.99 -- and providing free shipping.
