ASUS has inaugurated its first ever exclusive store in the country's capital Delhi, along with 3D gaming notebooks powered by NVIDIA GeForce GPUs. The ASUS store will offer a variety of products, classified into four major segments:Entertainment, Versatile, Classic, and Elite, along with related peripherals. Users can walk in to check out a wide range of products that also includes 3D-capable notebooks.
Exactly a year ago, MSI had opened an exclusive brand store in Bengalooru. That makes us wonder: why did ASUS take so long? Nevertheless, better late than never. At the ASUS store, users can enjoy a 3D gaming experience, watch movies on 3D-capable notebooks, and take a look at other ASUS offerings.
ASUS has joined Dell, Apple, Sony, MSI, Samsung, and LG in owning an exclusive store for sales and promotion of its products. Although popular multi-brand stores like Vijay Sales and Croma exist, product and brand-specific awareness amongst consumers is yet to catch on. For instance, we've known that ASUS has been heavily pushing its netbooks in India for the past 18 months, but we can't find them in Croma stores any more.
In due course, we'll hopefully get to see similar brand stores from other technology stalwarts opening in India as well. Only if a brand store has something exclusive in terms of products and pricing to offer, will consumers be really interested in visiting it.
