Dell intros new server and storage solutions

Storage major Dell released a range of new server, storage and networking solutions for SMBs. With a focus on phenomenal rise in data and storage needs, Dell has introduced new servers, Dell PowerEdge T110 II and R210 II  and PowerVault NX3500 and MD 3600i.

The company have already made available PowerConnect 7000 and PowerConnect 5500 series of networking switches for new server and storage offerings.
Dell said that the new products and solutions are built with a focus on the challenges that SMBs face today. “For SMBs, security is one of the major concerns, and have lack of IT expertise. They also want to reduce the number of individuals,” he said.
Julio also said that there is a lot of confusion around cloud computing amongst SMBs.
IT major is optimistic about the channel and said that it works closely with its partners, who are important to their business, and it will continue to invest in channel. “There are markets where channel helps us to reach new customers. If a channel identifies business opportunity, it can block it and Dell will not go direct,” Julio said.
The company believes that SMBs is one of the fastest growing business segments in India, and said that it will continue to focus on them for next three years. “IT/ITes is the largest contributed area to Dell’s India revenue. SMB manufacturing is another growth engine, and there is a huge potential in retail as well,” said Satyen Vyas, director, Medium Business, Dell India.
