Hyundai i40 to launch in India


After the huge success of Hyundai I series , Hyundai Motors india is all set to unveil I-40 on indian roads.It is expected that the new Hyundai Sonata might be renamed as Hyundai i40. Hyundai has not officially announced about the launch of Hyundai i30 and Hyundai i40 so it is difficult to say about the exact pricing and the technical details of the final models. The latest generation Hyundai Sonata i40 will come with a series of modern gasoline and diesel engines including the latest 2.2 R-Series diesel which produces a 204 bhp.  200 hp is produced by The 2.4 liter Theta II engine. The car engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission to deliver performance and fuel efficiency.
The i40 is going to be a very sleek and elegant car. It is believed that many of the styling cues seen on the Hyundai Genus concept from the 2006 Geneva show has been implemented on the styling of Hyundai i40.
The company official indicates that The Hyundai i40 will be manufactured on all new platform. The car will be officially launched in India by 2010 and the price of this car is expected to be in the range of 6-7.5 lakhs. After the launch the new Hyundai i40 will compete against Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, and Skoda Laura of this segment.
