Reliance launches commercial 3G services in Himachal Pradesh

Reliance Communications today announced the launch of Reliance 3G services in Himachal Pradesh’s all major towns,company officials said.
“The service will be offered in Shimla, Solan, Baddi, Nalagarh, Mandi, Poanta Sahib, Dharamsala, Kullu, Palampur, Hamirpur, Dalhousie, Una and Kangra,” said Sami Butt Circle head RCOM here.
“Very soon 3 G will be available in Manali and Sundernagar,” he said.
“Reliance 3G is now available in all 13 circles of the country and in nearly 150 towns of Himachal.The launch of 3G is an integral part of our vision 2015 of creating a ‘wireless Himachal’ built on the ‘affordable 3G for all platform’,” said Butt.
The service is capable of offering peak speeds of 28 mbps. It includes video calling,mobile tv,video streaming and applications accessed by a variety of mobile and PCs.
RCOM has tied up with Nokia for devices,Facebook,Nokia and Ericsson for applications and Universal music for content and motricity for the web portal.
A fortnight ago Idea Cellular also rolled out its 3G services in the hill state.
